Played in the middle at villa a few times too. What I like is he's taking his chance to shine and is putting the effort in.

The difference with some like Downing in that '10' role compared to Nolan is there for all to see. I think most of us have been calling for Nolan to be dropped, and this is why, we are a different team.

We've been looking for creativity and he has definitely stepped up to the plate. Our variety of play throughout the team has improved dramatically. Perhaps Sheringham is proving his worth down Chadwell Heath if he's had a hand in this.

He played a lot in the middle for villa the season before Liverpool spunked £20m on him then played him on the wing.

Absurdly successful in the middle. Brilliant couple of performances - MOTM in both imo.
